“Jovo na novo” / Here We Go Again…

Jutri me po zelo dolgem premoru čaka prvi (namiznoteniški) trening. Držite pesti in ostanite z mano! :)

After a very long time I’ll have my first (table tennis) training tomorrow. I haven’t held my bat in my hand ever since the World Championships  in October last year and I have to admit I’m a bit nervous starting the new season. Mostly of course due to my arm injury, for which I still don’t know whether we’ve managed to heal it properly in the meantime or not. I have had numerous phisiotherapies and intense fitness trainings for more than a month now, but it’s not possible to correctly asses the condition of my arm on those trainings because one can be careful and avoid certain risky excercises and movements at the gym, but it is impossible to do so in table tennis trainings (and competitions); that’s why I’m quite scared of having to once again realize that my arm isn’t ready or that the injury has returned. For this very reason, to start trainings slowly and try to avoid having problems later, I’ve also decided to leave out the first two tournaments this year,in Italy and Hungary in March, and only start competing internationally at my home tournament in May. So hopefully at the 8th Slovenian Open my arm and I will be ready to start a successful olympic-qualification season with the peak at the European Championships in Split, Croatia, at the end of October. Wish me luch and stay tuned! :)
